The preparation of this dessert is very easy and it doesn’t even require cooking as well! In fact, chocolate salami is simple, but appetizing at the same time. I like to give a personal touch to my dishes so for this reason I’ve decided to serve this one with a very delicate whipped cream that it’s seasoned with Cointreau … If you want, you can decide to create some small single portions that you can donate to your loved ones on Christmas day. If you think it’s an inexpensive or elaborate gift, you will have to change your mind because there is nothing more beautiful than a gift made by spending time and effort rather than money …
Serve: 4
- 250 grams 50% dark chocolate
- 60 gram caster sugar
- 150 grams butter
- 150 grams shelled mixed dried fruit (pistachios, walnuts and almonds)
- 100 grams dry biscuits
- Grated orange peel
- Icing sugar to taste
- Ground cinnamon to taste
For Cointreau whipped cream:
- 200 ml fresh cream
- 20 grams icing sugar
- 1 tablespoon of Cointreau
Method
Melt the dark chocolate in a water bath. When it’s melted, remove it from the heat and let it cool. Cut the butter into small pieces and work it with the sugar using a whisk. Coarsely chop the biscuits, almonds and the walnuts. Put them in a plastic bag and crumble with a meat mallet. Pistachio must remain whole.
Pour the dark chocolate into the bowl containing the butter cream, mix well and add biscuits and dried fruit. Mix the mixture and pour it on a sheet of baking paper. Roll up and give the typical salami shape to the mixture. Keep in the fridge for at least three hours. When it’s firmed, remove the salami from the fridge, discard the external paper, so sprinkle with an icing sugar and cinnamon mixture. Cut it into slices and serve with a generous dose of cream that you have to whip with icing sugar and the liqueur.
